Chinese car manufacturer is naming a new model after the Little Mermaid
Danish newspaper Politiken reports that the Little Mermaid is a huge draw to the Danish pavilion at Expo 2010 in China. 200 countries are exhibiting at Expo 2010 and the Danish pavilion has been rated as the most attractive stand to visit right after the Chinese. H.C. Andersen’s fairytales are extremely popular in the world’s third largest country – in fact so popular that a Chinese car manufacturer is naming a new model after the Little Mermaid! Despite the whole controversy about her Chinese exile, it seems like the Little Mermaid is doing quite a good job branding Denmark abroad

It does seem a little odd to name a car after something that lives in water. Unless it’s an mmphibious vehicle, of course.

It could be an amphibious vehicle! I’m not sure. Could also be a rip off - Mermaids on wheels is apparently not a completly new idea:-)
