New office treads in H. C. Andersen’s footsteps
June 2010 - We’re moving in August. We’ll still be in the centre of Copenhagen, but the new office will give us more space to house our expanding team of copywriters, designers and communications strategists. Appropriately, the building has strong links to H. C. Andersen, unarguably Denmark’s most internationally recognised writer.
Sweet shop gets H. C. Andersen ode
Renowned sweet and cake maker, Christian Frederik Bredo Grandjean, built his own cake shop at Bredgade 4 in 1853 – and the shop was often visited by actors and musicians from the Royal Theatre (Det Kongelige Teater). Among the visitors was H. C. Andersen, a family friend of the Grandjean’s who, apparently, got his cakes for free.
H. C. Andersen wrote a song for the building’s inauguration, called Ved Kransens hejsning på Grandjeans nye gård (By the garland hoisting at Grandjean’s new court).
Today, the four-storey building is owned by the great-great-grandsons of Christian Frederik Bredo Grandjean. Cakes are no longer sold from a shop downstairs, but if you pop by for a visit, we’ll do our best to supply something sweet.
You can read more about the building and its links to H. C. Andersen
here (in Danish).
We’re moving on 1 August
From 1 August we’ll have a new address and office (our phone numbers will stay the same). If you’re in the area, please drop in and say hello.

Michael Best joins Eye for Image as Creative Director and Partner
March 2010 – Eye for Image now offers the full range of communications services, from copywriting and communications strategies to creative concepts and design, and we’re pleased to welcome Michael Best as Creative Director and Partner.
Michael brings 21 years of experience as an innovation consultant and creative director in the USA and Denmark. An accomplished photographer, designer and communicator, his projects range from branding and identity campaigns to online marketing systems and first-in-class internet portals.
Michael’s portfolio includes co-managing a major prototype project for the US Defense Department to develop a supply chain internet portal for the United States Air Force. At Eye for Image, he works closely with clients to develop inspiring visuals and design concepts for their corporate materials.
“As one of Europe’s largest copywriting agencies, Eye for Image has had a rather special position in Denmark. However, over time we’ve been drawn into projects requiring other skills. So it’s been a natural move for us to begin providing more elements companies need to achieve a competitive, world-class profile – and increase their international sales”, explains David Hoskin, co-founder of Eye for Image.
“In Michael, we’ve found a Creative Director who is passionate about design and has extensive experience creating communications solutions targeting an international audience.”

Happy holiday season from all of us at Eye for Image
No-one can hide from it. 2009 has been a challenging year for many businesses. Like others, we’ve had to make some careful decisions about how best to navigate the changing face of the economy and business communications.
But despite its challenges, 2009 has led to some exciting changes at Eye for Image. We’ve welcomed new faces, some of whom bring a new type of skill to the team. We did this so we could offer our clients a full communications service, adding traditional and multi-media design to our core skill of copywriting.
So we’re looking forward to 2010!
In addition to the many exciting international communications challenges we’ve worked on during the year, there’ve been other highlights:

Good sponsorship starts in the local community
January 2009 – Ever seen a ten-year-old do a double front somersault with a twist? Or a Barani ball out? It’s quite a feat. And these were just some of the jumps we saw the kids at the GHG gymnastics club do when we visited them.
An inspiring example of what can be achieved in local communities, GHG has dedicated trainers and is full of talented youngsters. Like Samsung, Føtex and Danske Bank, Eye for Image supports the club as Gold sponsor.
